Dallas For Safer Water
Dallas City Council Meetings
A vote by the City Council which decides this issue of Fluoridated Drinking Water took place on January 28th, 2015.
We needed 8 City Council Members of the 15 to vote AGAINST FLUORIDATION.
Activists have been approaching the Dallas City Council for over a year.
Below is a collection of videos which show these presentations.
You will also notice that some City Council Members remain very uninformed about the issue and about the basic facts and about the hundreds of peer reviewed scientific studies.

On Dec.10th, 2014 an important action took
place before The Dallas City Council.
The day prior, the agenda had been updated to "take a vote" on the Dallas Water Fluoridation issue.
A vote almost took place.
However, the courageous
Councilman
Kadane
stepped up to the plate and finally got the "VOTE" changed to January 28th, 2015.
Councilman Kadane was entirely justified in calling for a postponement of a vote, because Public Health is a tremendous responsibility.
The Public Health as decided by the City Council will for years affect well over a million people in Dallas and its many suburbs; people who live there, work there, eat there, and visit there.
Being a PUBLIC HEALTH ISSUE, it is something that should be science based and thoroughly studied.
Primarily this issue revolves around...
CAVITY PREVENTION (dental)
versus
WHOLE BODY HEALTH (internal medicine/toxicology/biological chemistry).
*?!!*??*!! And NOTE: Councilman Rick Callahan has no idea what he is talking about.
He makes the statement: "And Mayor, I want to point out again that we sometimes take Fluoride out of the water. You know, it is naturally there, but we want to keep a balance throughout the entire balanced water system. So, sometimes we take it out. Sometimes we add in to keep a balance control...."
See this Press Release of December 30, 2014 - http://www.prweb.com/releases/2014/12/prweb12416315.htm
Dallas Water Utilities Director, Jody Puckett told Councilman Dwayne Caraway during a Briefing Meeting on April 27, 2014: “we would have no proposal to remove fluoride that’s naturally occurring...that’s what would literally cost hundreds of millions of dollars.”
FACT -- Fluoride is VERY DIFFICULT to remove from the Water Supply.
The City of Dallas does not intentionally remove Fluoride from the Raw Water.
(Raw Water averages around 0.5ppm).
Removal of Fluoride ions can not be done unless very expensive processes are used.
This FACT contains important significance...
While many, many government and independent scientists point out that Water Fluoridation has whole body health risks, Washington Bureaucrats often squelch these reports and studies.
In all likelihood, the reason Washington Bureaucrats do not call for a reduction in the Fluoride levels of Public Drinking Water is that it would become EXTREMELY costly, almost unviable, for many communities to REMOVE FLUORIDE from the Raw Water.
The Truth about Fluoride is so close, it could bite someone on the nose.

Dallas Dental Society Opposes Councilmembers' Support of Dropping Fluoride

Critics of putting fluoride in the Dallas water supply received a surprise Wednesday when three members of the Dallas City Council agreed with them.
The fluoride opponents have been making regular visits to Dallas City Council meetings for several months asking that Dallas stop the addition of fluoride which has been done for nearly 50 years to help fight tooth decay.
The opponents claim the city could save about $1 million a year that is spent to add fluoride.
Dallas Councilman Sheffie Kadane said he has discussed ending the practice with City Manager A.C. Gonzalez.
“We don’t need it and we’d just save a million dollars that we can use for something else,” Kadane said. “We’re looking into seeing what we can do immediately so we can get those funds up front now.”
Councilmembers Scott Griggs and Jennifer Staubach Gates agreed with Kadane.
“Yeah,” said fluoride opponent Regina Imburgia. “This is major big. I knew we would prevail. It only makes sense. We’re spending too much money on an ineffective program.”
Imburgia said she is more concerned about possible health consequences of drinking fluoridated water. She said fluoride toothpaste is a better way to fight tooth decay.

VERY BRIEF HISTORY - 1965
About 14 months after President John F. Kennedy was assassinated in Dallas, on January 25, 1965, Place 5 Councilman Joe H. Golman, (Deputy Mayor Pro Tem 4/6/1965) made a motion to fluoridate Dallas drinking water. In that smoke filled chambers of Mayor Erik Jonsson and 9 Council Members, a citizen interrupted despite being told that she could not speak. She was alarmed at such a tyrannical proposal to forcibly introduce a medical intervention into the water supply.
Below are some images of the Council on January 25, 1965.
